Firecracker blast kills 7 in west India

Seven people of a family were killed in a firecracker blast in west India's Gujarat Pradesh late Monday night, Indo-Asian News Service reported Tuesday.

The family illegally produced firecrackers at home in Kasba village in Dahod district and firecrackers exploded on the eve of Diwali, India's traditional Festival of Lights.

Six male members of the family died of suffocation while a woman was killed due to burns. Two people were injured.
