    Sony unveils new Cyber-shot models

    Sony China Ltd. held an introduction conference on Nov. 2 for four new modes of Sony Cyber-shot for the autumn and winter of 2005. Sony's big shot this time includes the year's most characteristic DSC-R1, DSC-N1, DSC-T9 and DSC-M2.

    Largest Yuan Dynasty ship excavated in Penglai

    The Shandong cultural heritage archeological institute announced on November 2 in Penglai that the No.2 ancient ship among the three Yuan and Qing Dynasty ships excavated at an ancient harbor in Penglai is 22.5 meters long. It has a lengthen of 35 meters after being reconstructed, which makes it the largest battleship of its time among those discovered. The photo shows excavation personnel measuring the No.2 ship.

    Drill against bird flu conducted in Hunan

    Health workers in Yongzhou city, Central China's Hunan Province, bury dead chickens "killed by bird flu" in a drill Wednesday November 2, 2005 to test their emergency response ability. A bird flu outbreak was reported in the province's Xiangtan city last month. It was immediately brought under control.
