A cargo train carrying 13,000 tents left the East Railway Station of Zhengzhou, capital of central China's Henan Province, early Thursday morning for Kashi in northwestern Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region.
From Kashi, the tents will be transported to quake-hit areas in Pakistan to help quake victims to survive coming winter months, according to the Henan Provincial Office for Disaster Relief on Thursday.
The Oct. 8 quake has claimed more than 70,000 lives, according to the latest official figures from Pakistan. The quake left 69,000 people injured and several million others homeless.
The Chinese government has offered large quantities of relief materials to quake-hit areas in Pakistan, including 7,000 tents.
