A senior official of the Communist Party of China (CPC) met in Beijing Thursday with a delegation of the Party of European Socialists led by the party president Poul Nyrup Rasmussen.

Wang Jiarui, head of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, said the CPC will enhance exchanges with the Party of European Socialists to deepen the comprehensive strategic partnership between China and the European Union (EU).

Rasmussen said his party values the exchanges with the CPC and will work for further communication and coordination between EU and China within the framework of the United Nations and World Trade Organization.
