Chinese Vice Premier Zeng Peiyan said in Beijing Thursday that China will expand cooperation with British Petroleum (BP) in energy fields.
Zeng made the remarks while meeting with John Browne, BP's chief executive officer.
BP, one of the biggest foreign-funded investors in China, has maintained good relations with China, said Zeng.
China's opening-up drive and sustainable economic development have created great potential for cooperation between China and BP in the energy field, Zeng said.
The vice premier called on the two sides to further cooperationin such fields as petrochemical, clean energy and new energy so asto achieve win-win results and common development.
