Gunmen kill six Iraqi policemen

Gunmen attacked a police checkpoint northeast of Baghdad on Friday, killing six policemen and wounding 10 others, police said.

"Unknown armed men attacked a police checkpoint outside Buhruz town near Baquba, killing six policemen and wounding 10 others," a police source from the US-Iraqi Joint Coordination Center told Xinhua.

Iraqi security forces are targeted by insurgents who attempt to topple the Shiite-and-Kurdish-dominated government.
