World number one Lin Dan, Zhang Ning stormed into the finals of the men's singles and women's singles at Hong Kong Open Badminton Championships 2005 Saturday afternoon.

Lin, nicknamed as Super Dan by the Chinese fans, defeated Malaysia's Wong Choong Hann with an easy 2-0 victory. He told reporters that he had prepared a lot for the game and succeeded in defending his half division.

Both he and Wong played well in today's game but he was faster than Wong. He said he remained in good form after the 10th Chinese National Games and became mentally maturer than before, adding that he was confident about the final slated for Sunday.

In the women's singles, Athens Olympic gold medalist Zhang Ning ousted number four seed Pi Hongyan, former Chinese national squad member now representing France, 2-0.

Zhang took the first set 11-3 but the second set was much tougher. Both of them played some good points. Zhang finally won it 13-11.
