Lin Dan wins men's singles title at HK Open Badminton

World number one Lin Dan took the first gold at Hong Kong's Open Badminton Championships 2005 here on Sunday afternoon, beating compatriot Bao Chunlai 2-0 in the men's singles final.

Lin started the first set brightly with 8-3 in lead. Though Bao played some good points, he failed to change the situation and lost to Lin 10-15.

In the second set, Lin had exerted control of the game and won with an easy 15-4 victory.

As the men's singles champion, Lin won a prize money of 20,000 US dollars and Bao, 10,000 US dollars as the runner-up.
