Han's Tech Western Water Corp. has found a reliable investment market in China's lackluster Guizhou Province in its small town BOT water projects.
The American company's investment has amounted to 150 million US dollars for building water plants and an affiliated water pipeline to tap water into township households in southwest China's Guizhou Province.
Jerry D. Moseley, president of the company, said the local government has given a sense of security to foreign companies investing build-operate-transfer (BOT) projects. Han's Tech Western Water will use its technical power to ensure the quality of the projects.
The company was the first foreign company to invest in BOT water projects in Guizhou. After two years of investment, the company has built two water plants with a respective daily treatment capacity of 25,000 tons and 20,000 tons of water supplying for a total of 150,000 people in two counties in Guizhou. The company is undertaking construction of several other projects in the province.
The economically backward province will see 7 billion yuan (875 million US dollars) of investment flow to the water market in the next five years, which will be mainly used for building an urban drinking water system and sewage treatment plants.
