The Import and Export Bank of China will offer more support for the financing services of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), Liang Xiang, its bank governor's assistant was quoted by the Economic Daily as saying.
Previously the Import and Export Bank of China put its service focus on large-sized enterprises and projects, but now it will provide service for more SMEs, Liang was quoted as saying.
The Import and Export Bank of China is one of the country's three policy-oriented banks established in 1994. The bank is working on favorable policies to support SME financing, including lowering the threshold for loans to SMEs, said Liang at a recent seminar on international financing.
In the future, the bank will underscore the bolstering of mature collectively-owned and privately-owned enterprises of transparent financial situation, such as profitable listing firms and enterprises with famous-brand products, he said.
The bank will also give moderate support to growing collectively-owned and private enterprises with relatively transparent financial practices and competitive products, he said.
The bank is thinking of establishing a special fund to provide a guarantee for commercial bank direct loans to SMEs, he said.
