How popular are the Beijing Olympic mascots?

Five mascots are not too many. They all look good, but I like the panda most. My daughter in Britain asked me to buy all five mascot figures for her.

Five is excessive. I like the panda because it comes from my hometown. I will not buy the mascot souvenirs because they are too expensive.

"I like the friendly panda Jingjing, the most impressive of the five. I will buy a Jingjing mascot, five are too many and one is enough."

I like Huanhuan, which represents Chinese traditional style. I will buy one as it is a precious opportunity for China to hold the Olympic Games.

Li Bing, a college student in Guangzhou, capital of Guangdong Province, South China

I do not think five mascots are too many. I like Nini most. Unlike the rare panda, the swallow is a common bird. It is a perfect symbol of the mass appeal of the Olympic Games.

Many of the mascots have sold out. Around 1,000 customers spent a total 300,000 yuan (US$37,000) on licensed mascot products in my shop Sunday (on Saturday). This was beyond our expectations.
