Macao launches anti-crime campaign
font size

The Macao police are continuing a month-long anti-crime campaign since Saturday, local media reported Tuesday.

The Macao Post Daily reported that the police conducted identification checks on 66 laborers from the Chinese mainland on Sunday.

Some 170 police officers swooped on all the 17 casinos in town to fight gaming-related crimes, said the newspaper report.

It added that 113 people were taken in for questioning during the Saturday raid and one of the suspects has been banned from entering any of the casinos.

The anti-crime drive, dubbed "Winter Sun Campaign," is a joint mission conducted by the police forces in Macao, Hong Kong and Guangdong province, according to the newspaper.
