The Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) Air Force plans to recruit would-be pilots with a new standard for their height, according to the Beijing Morning Post Tuesday.

Beginning next year, the Air Force will recruit male candidates with heights ranging from 1.65-1.85 meters and females between 1.65-1.78 meters.

Currently, male pilots are 1.65-1.78 meters tall and female pilots range from 1.65-1.75 meters.

Next year's recruitment of pilots begins this month. High school graduates aged 16-20, both males and females, are allowed to apply for the recruitment.
