Jia Qinglin on United Front
font size

Jia Qinglin, chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), has urged United Front departments and officials at all levels to make substantial efforts and "write new chapters" for the cause.

Jia, member of the Standing Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee Political Bureau, made the call Thursday in a meeting with deputies of a national conference attended by directors of provincial-level United Front departments.

In his speech, Jia pledged to build up a patriotic United Front with participants representing the interests of all circles, by upholding the banner of "Greater Unity and Greater Alliance", uniting all forces that can be united, and mobilizing all positive factors.

He urged all United Front officials to be firm politically, adopt a democratic work style, become affluent in knowledge, and masterful professionals.

Liu Yandong, vice chairperson of the CPPCC National Committee, also spoke during the meeting.
