Jia Chunwang, procurator-general of China's Supreme People's Procuratorate, met Friday with visiting US Attorney General Alberto Gonzales.
Jia said that Chinese procuratorial organs would like to work with the US counterparts to jointly fight terrorism and other cross-border crimes, in a bid to create a world community that features lasting stability.
Jia also briefed Gonzales on the anti-graft work the Chinese procuratorial organs have been doing.
Noting the sound cooperation between the two countries in the field of justice, Gonzales said the United States would like to step up cooperation with China in such fields as anti-terrorism and continuously expand the scope of cooperation.
The two sides also exchanged views on issues of common interest, including crackdown on crimes related to intellectual property rights.
Gonzales started his three-day China visit Thursday as guest of Chinese State Councilor and Minister of Public Security Zhou Yongkang.
