Metro train derails in Beijing, no casualties
Beijing metro's Xizhimen Station stops operation on Monday afternoon. Three carriages of an empty train ran off the rails at 1:55 pm when the train was performing test run on No. 13 Line that day. The accident caused inconvenience for many passengers although the metro company tried to retain the operation on the remaining rail, because the repair operation lasted for nearly six hours.

Romania takes measures to control bird flu
Photo taken on Nov. 20, 2005 shows fowls kept in the courtyard of a farmer's home in Afumati, Romania. Dead birds were found in two villages in the Danube delta early October and a further test determined the birds infected with the deadly H5N1 bird flu virus. The affected zone was immediately blocked and the poultry farms nearby were disinfected. So far, no people have been found infected with bird flu virus in Romania.

Chinese naval fleet arrives in Pakistani port

The Chinese fleet composed of the "Shenzhen" missile destroyer and the "Weishanhu" ocean supplier arrived in Karachi Nov. 21 for a three-day visit to Pakistan. It will also visit India and Thailand.
