The intermediate people's court of Kunming, capital of southwest China's Yunnan province, opened a session on a Taiwanese businessman's drug trafficking case Wednesday.
The alleged trafficker, surnamed Chiang and a Taipei native, was arrested with 62 tablets of heroin in his purse in the provincial capital on May 15. More drugs were found later in his apartment by local police with a total amount of 35.16 kilograms.
The People's Procuratorate of Kunming City deemed the evidence against him to be solid. The local court has yet to make a final ruling on Chiang.
