China appreciates Togo's support to the one-China policy as well as the human rights issue, said Xu Jialu, vice-chairman of the Standing Committee of China's National People's Congress (NPC),Thursday.

In a meeting with Kpatcha Gnassingbe, minister delegate in the Presidency in charge of Defence and Veterans, Xu said China and Togo enjoy profound friendship and fruitful cooperation in various fields.

China is ready to further enhance friendly cooperation with Togo in various fields, said Xu.

Kpatcha said Togo values the relations with China, and will, as always, support China in the Taiwan issue and other international and regional affairs.

Kpatcha hoped that his visit would be conducive to promoting exchanges and cooperation between the two nations, in a bid to push forward the Togo-China friendly ties.
