font size

Mongolian President Nambaryn Enkhbayar Sunday departed for Beijing in his first state visit since he took office in June.

Enkhbayar will stay in Beijing from Nov. 27 to Dec. 3, when he will meet Chinese President Hu Jintao as well as other high-ranking Chinese officials.

Boosting ties with China and Russia has been the focus of Mongolia's foreign policies, and the current visit will help maintain the momentum of exchanges of high-level visits between Mongolia and China, he told reporters before departure.

"During the visit, the two sides will hold talks on economic and trade cooperation and other topics," said the president.

Enkhbayar will also travel to the eastern Chinese city of Shanghai to attend a meeting between businessmen of the two countries.
