Macao's jobless rate drops slightly

Macao has recorded a 4.1-percent unemployment rate between August and October, a year-on-year drop of 0.4 percent, according to official statistics issued in Macao on Monday.

The figures from the Statistics and Census Service showed that the number of jobless residents seeking their first job was around 1,700, or 16.1 percent of the total unemployed population between August and October.

Macao's total labor force was estimated at 253,000 in the period, the figures showed.

The special administrative region has a population of over 480, 000.
