UN chief to visit China in December

United Nations (UN) Secretary-General Kofi Annan will pay an official visit to China from Dec. 4 to 7 at the invitation of the Chinese government, said Foreign Ministry spokesman Liu Jianchao in Beijing Tuesday.

This will be Annan's 7th visit to China since he assumed office, and the two sides will exchange ideas on international and regional issues of common interest and the cooperation between China and the UN, Liu said at a regular news briefing.
