The memoirs of Hu Yaobang, the late senior leader of the Communist Party of China, has been published by the Beijing Publishing House and is now available for readers.

The memoirs of "Endless Missing -- Recalling My Father Hu Yaobang" was written by Man Mei, Hu's daughter. She hopes the memories of her father will give readers a glimpse of the history, particularly at the initial stage of China's reform and opening-up drive in the 1980s.

Sui Lijun, editor of the memoirs, said it took the writer eight years to complete the book which was written with passion and was based on large amounts of rare and first-hand materials.

In the process of writing the memoirs, the writer interviewed many former friends, colleagues and comrades-in-arms of her father and collected lots of historical materials of high value for studies, the editor said.

Man Mei said she has learned a lot more about his father and his thinking through writing the memoirs, saying "my father was a kind, tolerant, diligent, honest and enthusiastic person who sought truth and worked unremittingly all his life".
