Homemade Benz to be on market in December

The Beijing Times said today that the long awaited home-made Benz sedans would roll down the production line soon. On Nov. 30 the Beijing Benz Daimler Chrysler (BBDC) official told the Beijing municipal government that the first home-made Benz would be off the production line on Dec. 9 this year.

The new Benz plant in Beijing is recognized by the Beijing Construction Commission as one of the 60 key local projects for 2005.

However, a spokesperson for BBCD told the Beijing Times that they cannot unveil the specific date, place and price of the home-made Benz, which would surely debut the market in December.

Insiders believe that the home-made Benz sedans will be highlights at the yearend.
