Lesotho will not change its one-China policy, said the visiting Lesotho's Prime Minister Pakalitha Mosisili Thursday afternoon in Beijing.
Addressing at the Chinese Foreign Affairs University, Mosisili said politically, Lesotho supports China for its peaceful reunification drive.
"We adhere to the one-China policy not because we want to please our Chinese friends, but because we believe it is the right thing to do, and most people in Lesotho welcome and support this policy," said Mosisili.
Since the two countries reestablished diplomatic relations in 1993, the bilateral relations have deepened and the bilateral cooperation has diversified, the prime minister noted.
"China has given us food assistance and helped to train our military and diplomats. Now China is participating in the construction of telecommunication facilities in our country," he said.
"We appreciate China's assistance and aid over the years," Mosisili added.
After his speech, Mosisili was conferred the title of honorary professorship of Chinese Foreign Affairs University.
