Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao said Thursday in Beijing that China will work hard to promote high-level exchange of visits with Lesotho for stronger political and economic ties between the two countries.
China will provide aid within its capacity to support economic and social development of the African country and encourage Chinese enterprises to invest there, the premier said during talks with Lesotho Prime Minister Pakalitha Mosisili.
China will also increase cooperation with Lesotho in agriculture, human resources training and tourism, said Wen, who expressed appreciation for the stand of Lesotho to develop relations with China, adhere to the one-China policy and support China's reunification drive.
Hailing the smooth development of bilateral relations since the resumption of diplomatic ties in 1994, Wen said the two countries had enhanced political mutual trust, supported each other and coordinated well in international issues and expanded cooperation in trade, economy, culture, education, health, and human resources training.
The overall cooperation stimulated the two countries' economic and social development and was welcome by the two peoples, he said.
Mosisili agreed with Wen on his remarks on Lesotho-China relations, and thanked China for the political support and economic aid to his country.
China's economic and social development offered valuable experience for African countries and created important conditions for enhancing Lesotho-China cooperation in the fields of economy, trade, textiles industry, science and technology and education.
He reiterated that Lesotho will continue to adhere to the one-China policy and support China's peaceful reunification.
Mosisili arrived here Wednesday afternoon for a seven-day official visit to China as guest of Wen. This is his second visit to the country, during which he will also meet Chinese President Hu Jintao and top legislator Wu Bangguo.
