China to push on price reform in six areas of resources
font size

China will carry forward active and steady price reforms in the six areas of petroleum, electricity, water, natural gas, coal and land next year, said Zhang Ping, Vice Minister of the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) on Sunday at the "National Price Conference of Bureau Directors" held in Beijing, according to a Xinhua report on Sunday in Beijing.

Zhang Ping said the price contradictions will be solved in a moderate, steady, focus-choosing and inter-linking way instead of making debut a series of price-hike measures in 2006. The price readjustment project will be in consideration of the bearing capacity of the public and society, reports the overseas edition of People's Daily on Monday.

China's economy will be kept at a high growth rate this year while maintaining a low inflation rate. According to a China's official prediction, China's economy will likely grow by 9.4 percent this year with no more than 2 percent year-on-year increase of the consumer price index. The steady price this year will create an easy environment for the coming year's resource price reforms.
