China launches anti-dumping investigation against new overseas exporter

China on Monday started an anti-dumping investigation against an overseas exporter that began exporting products under investigation during the previous investigation period.

China's Ministry of Commerce announced that it has kicked off the new investigation against phenol produced by the Republic of Korea (ROK)-based LG Company, a new foreign exporter that began exporting the chemical after China's previous anti-dumping period.

According to China's anti-dumping law, Chinese importers of this chemical from the LG company should offer deposits to Chinese customs at the same rate as other ROK companies beginning Monday.

The investigation is expected to end within nine months, said the ministry.
