Chinese Defense Minister Cao Gangchuan stressed in Beijing Monday the friendly ties with the armed forces of Congo during a meeting with Charles Richard Mondjo, chief of general staff of the armed forces of Congo.
Cao, also vice-chairman of the Chinese Central Military Commission and state councilor, said China and Congo have witnessed fruitful cooperation in various fields including politics, economy, military, culture, education and public health since the establishment of diplomatic ties.
He expressed appreciation for the Congolese government's firm adherence to the one-China policy.
Cao said the relations between the two armed forces have maintained a smooth development with increased exchanges and cooperation.
China is willing to make joint efforts with the Republic of Congo to push forward the two-way friendly cooperation, he added.
Mondjo said said the two countries have developed good relations and he thanked China for providing assistance to Congo.
He reaffirmed the Congolese government sticks to the one-China policy.
"I believe my visit is sure to further expand the friendly cooperation between the two countries and their armed forces," said Mondjo.
