The World Trade Organization (WTO) talks in the Doha Round should emphasize the efficient prevention of abuse of antidumping measures.
Zhang Xiangchen, director of the Department for WTO Affairs under the Ministry of Commerce made the remark in Beijing recently at a press conference on the forthcoming Hong Kong meeting.
The WTO's ministerial meeting in Hong Kong is scheduled from Dec. 13 to18. The talks should improve the current regulations concerning antidumping measures, so as to make international trade more predictable, he said.
The service trade of developing countries is still in the preliminary stage of development, so special concern should be given to them so as to attract them to participate in world service trade, he said.
"New WTO members have made important promises in many areas, which are great contributions to the multilateral trade systems, so the talks should show enough flexibility so as to satisfy the special concern of developing countries," he said.
