Shanghai has attracted a record foreign investment this year. It is estimated that the foreign investment for the whole year will exceed 13 billion US dollars, which will be the highest record in history for six consecutive years since 2000, according to the overseas edition of People's Daily on Tuesday.

It is learned that the "10th Five-Year Plan period is when Shanghai introduced the most foreign funds in the fastest pace. For the whole period, Shanghai has directly attracted contractual investment of over 50 billion US dollars, equivalent to the total foreign investment of the 22 years since the start of China's reform and opening up to the outside world in 1978. Shanghai has become a "treasure basin" for international capitals.
