Russian First Deputy PM to visit China

Dmitri Medvedev, first deputy prime minister of the Russian Federation is to pay an official visit to China, according to sources with the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Medvedev, also president of the organizing committee of the "Russia Year in China" program, will stay in China from December 8th to 9th as guest of Chinese vice premier Wu Yi.

Wu Yi is currently the president of the organizing committee of the "China Year in Russia" program.

The two goodwill programs, the Russia Year in China in 2006 and the China Year in Russia in 2007, cover a wide spectrum of areas including culture, education, economy, political systems and traditional customs of the two countries.

The two sides will hold talks to discuss bilateral relations and the two goodwill programs.
