Brussels-based television channel Europe by Satellite (EbS) is to broadcast a 60-minute special program titled "EU-China Relations -- 2005" on Friday, it was revealed on Wednesday.
This will be the first time EbS, which is funded by the European Commission, broadcasts a 60-minute long program exclusive on relations between China and the European Union (EU).
According to EbS, the program will include footage on nine subjects, namely, "Shanghai: general pictures," "Environment," "Trade," "Car Manufacturing," "Toy Production," "Hosiery production," "EU Investments," "EU Products" and "Education."
The move is to "illustrate the forthcoming WTO (World Trade Organization) Ministerial meeting in Hong Kong," which is due late this month.
Staff from EbS told Xinhua that EbS has exerted great efforts on the program and all videos were shot by EbS cameramen, who had gone all the way to China to do that.
Europe by Satellite was launched in 1995 and it provides TV and radio stations with EU related pictures and sound in up to 21 or more languages. Its programming consists of a mix of live events, stock shots and finished programs.
The EbS satellite covers the European continent, North Africa and the Middle East. It is not encrypted and can be received using satellite signal-receiving equipment.
