At least 7 Islamic terrorist suspects arrested in Spain
font size

At least six men and one woman suspected of helping fund Islamic terrorists have been arrested by Spanish police in the Costa del Sol region of southern Spain, state radio reported on Friday.

The seven detainees, none of whom is of Spanish nationality, were arrested on the orders of a Spanish court in the country's southern coastal town of Malaga, the radio said.

The suspects were allegedly linked to a local al-Qaida network, but the authorities were not available for comment.

Since last year's bomb attacks on commuter trains in Madrid, which left 191 people dead, Spain has been on alert against similar attacks by Islamic terrorists.
