Chinese NPC vice-chairwoman meets with Japanese guests

Gu Xiulian, vice-chairwoman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress (NPC), met with a delegation of the Japanese Social Democratic Party led by the party leader Fukushima Mizuho in Beijing Thursday.

Gu is also president of the All-China Women's Federation. The Japanese delegation, with former Japanese Prime Minister Tomiichi Murayama as an advisor, paid the visit to China from Dec. 7 to 9 as guest of the Communist Party of China (CPC).
