Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao and Czech President Vaclav Klaus vowed on Friday to push forward the expansion of the friendly cooperative ties between China and the Czech Republic.

The two leaders made the pledge when President Vaclav Klaus met with Premier Wen in Prague. Both leaders also said they are satisfied with the development of the Sino-Czech relations in recent years.

During the meeting, Wen said the leaders from both sides have keep frequent contacts in recent years, which has increased mutual understanding and trust.

He said China and the Czech Republic have made full use of their own advantages to conduct a series of fruitful economic and trade cooperation, noting that more exchanges have been made in scientific research, culture and civil societies.

Wen, who arrived in the Czech Republic on Thursday for an official visit, said the Sino-Czech relations, based on a new starting point, were advancing toward more diversified fields.

The Chinese premier pointed out that there is no interest conflict between China and the Czech Republic, nor are any pendent problems, so that the cooperation between the two sides would see continuous expansion.

Klaus, on his part, said he was pleased with the increasing exchanges and deepening cooperation between his country and China.

China's development has exerted vital influence on the world, including the Czech Republic, the president said, noting that his country values its ties with China.

Klaus also spoke highly of China's role in the international arena, extending the hope that his country could become a more reliable cooperation partner of China.

The president also said he hopes that two countries would increase political dialogue, economic cooperation, trade and culture exchange, so as to boost bilateral ties in an all-around manner.
