Luo Gan, member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, left Beijing Saturday afternoon for an official goodwill visit to Argentina, Uruguay and Cuba.

Luo will visit the three countries at the invitation of the Argentine government and the Partido Justicialista, Uruguayan government and Frente Amplio, and Communist Party of Cuba.

Luo's Latin American tour is scheduled from Dec. 10 to 25.

His entourage included Wang Jiarui, head of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, Wang Shengjun, secretary general of the Committee of Political Science and Law under the CPC Central Committee, Ma Wenpu, deputy head of the International Department of CPC Central Committee, Zhang Xinfeng, vice minister of Public Security, and Duan Zhengkun, vice minister of Justice.
