Iranian Supreme Leader Seyed Ali Khamenei said on Saturday that Israel and the United States were sensitive to Iran's anti-Israel remarks due to their weakness, the official IRNA news agency reported.

"The Zionists and their American allies surprisingly show sensitivity to any remarks on the Zionist regime, which betray their weakness and embarrassment about attention of the Muslim nations to the plight of Palestinians," Khamenei was quoted as saying.

He said that the current situation in Palestine indicated "a real hope that the Muslim countries would be able to settle the issue in the interest of the Palestinian nation."

"Muslim nations seriously advocate liberation of holy Qods ( Jerusalem) thanks to sacrifice and devotion of the Palestinian people and despite every conspiracy of the Zionists," Khamenei added.

Khamenei made the remarks at a meeting with members of the International Conference to Support Islamic Revolution of Palestine, a Tehran-based non-governmental organization.

The remarks came two days after President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's anti-Israel remarks incurred a new round of international condemnation.

Ahmadinejad said on Thursday in Saudi Arabia that Israel should be moved from the Middle East to Europe, questioning whether the Holocaust took place.

Ahmadinejad's remarks drew condemnation from UN chief Kofi Annan, the UN Security Council and the United States, Israel, Germany and Austria.

In late October, the hardline president also called for wiping off Israel from the map.
