Chinese premier arrives in Kuala Lumpur

Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao arrived in Kuala Lumpur Sunday to attend East Asian summits and pay an official visit to Malaysia.

Wen, who flew here from Portugal, will attend the 9th China-ASEAN and ASEAN Plus China, Japan and Republic of Korea Summit and the first East Asia Summit.

During the visit, Wen is also expected to meet Malaysian Supreme Head of State Sultan Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin Syed Putra Jamalullail and hold talks with Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi on bilateral cooperation, and have extensive contacts with personages from various social circles in Malaysia.

Malaysia is the last leg of Wen's five-nation Euro-Asia tour, which has taken him to France, Slovakia, the Czech Republic and Portugal.
