Australian youths beat a man of Middle Easern appreance in Australia'a biggest city Sydney on Dec 11. Racially motivated riots spread in Sydney after some white youths attacked people of Middle Eastern appearance at one beach. Police said 12 has been arrested.

British police said that they believed there were around 36 casualties in the fuel depot blasts, four of them seriously injured.

Black-headed gulls in Kunming free from bird flu

Under more than 60 days of supervision and inspection, no black-headed gulls from Siberia were found infected by bird flu in Kunming. The department of environment protection and epidemic prevention of the municipal government and aves association have taken severe measures to prevent bird flu at the black-headed gull flocked areas in Kunming.

College students open garbage recycling website
College students Liang Shuang (L), Guan Xing and Liu Pengfei (R) prepare to make known of their garbage recycling website at Xizhimen subway station, in Beijing, capital of China, Dec. 10, 2005. As third year students of Beijing Polytechnical University Wang Ke, Liu Pengfei, Guan Xing, Liang Shuang and Qi Zhi invested 200 yuan each built up a garbage recycling website to post notices for garbage collecting and recycling. While took a part-time job, Wang Ke noticed an ordinary building would produce a lot of garbages. Since there is no big company involved in garbage collecting and recycling market, the potential of this kind of low-risk buisness is big.
