New oil and gas field with enormous reserve found in Xinjiang

An ordovician creature reef oil and gas field with a reserve of 100 million tons was discovered near Taklimakan desert in northwestern Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region after three years' exploration, according to reports from Tarim Exploration Research Center.

The discovery of the new gas field is of great significance for China's petroleum strategy and gas development in Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region.
