EU remains China's top trade partner

From January to November this year, the European Union (EU) has remained China's largest trade partner. Sino-EU trade volume reached 196.77 billion US dollars, up 23.6 percent, according to latest statistics from the General Administration of Customs.

In the first 11 months, the number of countries that share with China bilateral trade volume exceeding a hundred billion US dollars has increased to six.

Despite frictions one after another, the trade volumes between China and its three major trading partners -- the EU, the United States and Japan -- all continued to grow. The figures between China and the EU and the Untied States both increased by 20 percent and approached 200 billion US dollars.

Till November, China's import and export this year totaled 1282.27 billion US dollars, a year-on-year growth of 23.5 percent, of which export stood at 686.54 billion US dollars, up 29.7 percent and import 595.73 billion US dollars, up 17.1 percent. Guangdong, Jiangsu, Shanghai still take the top three positions in foreign trade. November saw a record monthly trade volume of 133.74 billion US dollars, up 19.6 percent year on year.

Customs statistics show China's export trade increased remarkably from January to November, while import accelerated its growth. Foreign-funded enterprises traded 747.1 billion US dollars, up 25.4 percent; state-owned enterprises 332.93 billion US dollars, up 11.9 percent. Collective-owned, private and other enterprises kept a robust growth in their imports and exports.

In addition, the total value of the trade between the mainland and Hong Kong hit 120.45 billion US dollars with an increase of 20.6 percent. That with ASEAN was 117.24 billion US dollars, up 23.5 percent. The figure with South Korea also surpassed a hundred billion US dollars for the first time to 101.45 billion US dollars.
