Some of the world's top skiers will compete in the freestyle aerials FIS World Cup to be held this weekend, organisers said on Tuesday.
The international star cast features Ales Valenta of the Czech Republic, Jeret Peterson from the United States and Steve Omischl from Canada while the host will field Xu Nannan, Guo Xinxin, Cheng Shuang and Wang Jiao.
"Skiers from 10 countries will take part in the upcoming freestyle ski competitions,"said Zhao Xiaolu, deputy secretary general of the organising committee.
"All the teams have arrived in Changchun and the preparatory works have been completed for the event," Zhao said.
The events include the third and fourth stops of the World Cup series, to be held on December 16 and 18 respectively in Changchun, the capital of Jilin Province.
"The events will give skiers chances to warm up for February's Winter Olympics in Turin,"said Wang Yitao, chief of Chinese Ski Association.
