In the first 10 months this year, China exported 5.04 billion suitcases and bags, worth 6.03 billion U.S. dollars, up 11.12 percent and 18.51 percent year on year, according to figures from the Ministry of Commerce.
In October alone, China exported 532 million suitcases and bags worth 633 million U.S. dollars, up 24.25 percent and 27.1 percent year on year.
Figures show most of China's suitcase and bag exports have plastic-surfaces, accounting for 49.7 percent of the total volume in the first 10 months. The export of leather-surface suitcases and bags grew 59.65 percent year on year.
In the first 10 months, China's mainland exported 28.6 percent of its suitcases and bags to the United States, 25.56 percent to the European Union, 10.8 percent to Hong Kong, 10.8 percent to Japan, 2.15 percent to the Republic of Korea.
During the period, China's suitcase and bag exports to Russia jumped 154.36 percent year on year. The Chinese mainland's suitcase and bag export to the United States, the European Union, Hong Kong, Japan, the Republic of Korea grew 17.93 percent, 17.4 percent, 7.77 percent, 10.7 percent and 19.65 percent, respectively.
