font size

Motorcycle sales in Indonesia dropped to its lowest monthly figure in November due to long holidays, a local newspaper reported Thursday.

Last month's sales were recorded at 350,067, falling sharply from 490,554 units in the preceding month, but remain 35 percent higher when compared to the same month last year, said Bisnis Indonesia, quoting data from biggest automotive firm PT Astra International.

"We had only a half month of working days in November," Gunadi Sinduwinata, vice chairman of the Motorcycle Industries Association, was quoted as saying.

Total sales in the first 11 months of the year stood at 4.73 million units, up 34 percent against 3.53 million units in the corresponding period last year.
