The Communist Party of China (CPC) has made progress in helping the government for proper settlement of thorny issues in foreign relations and international affairs through dynamic party-to-party diplomacy this year, a senior CPC official said in Beijing Thursday.

"The result in this regard is remarkable," said Wang Jiarui, head of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, in an exclusive interview with Xinhua.

The CPC has played a role in mediating the nuclear issue on the Korean Peninsula through the channel of party-to-party exchange, said Wang.

"When China-Japan relations are in difficulties, the CPC maintains inter-party exchanges with political parties in Japan and urges the Japanese leaders to treat the history issue properly."

A CPC delegation visited the Middle East to promote peace talks between Palestine and Israel, Wang said.

The CPC has also consulted with political parties of foreign countries on the establishment of a just and rational new international political and economic order and the promotion of the United Nations reform in a just and rational manner.

With the inter-party exchanges covering a wider range, the CPC paid high attention to the mode of economic and social development, corporate management and science and technology while promoting its relations with foreign political parties.

These activities helped exchange information about trade and economic cooperation, and bring about the signing of agreements on some projects, said Wang.

The CPC has also made efforts to facilitate cultural exchange and cooperation between China and other countries to promote understanding and friendship between the peoples.

"The CPC is ready to do anything that is beneficial to the development of nation-to-nation relations and will do it well with the utmost effort," he said.
