Consecutive sucess at this weekend's freestyle skiing World Cup has boosted the morale of the Chinese team in the run-in to February's Winter Olympics in Turin.

Xu Nannan took the fourth stop of the World Cup here on Sunday, while the title of the third stop went to fellow Chinese Wang Jiao on Friday.

"Not only me, but the other teammates also want to win a gold medal (in Turin Games). Our strength has improved a lot compared with that of 2002 Salt Lake City Winter Olympics,"said Xu.

"Chinese women freestyle team boasted of such advantages as the large number of competitive skiers, high degree of technical difficulty and stable landing,"she added.

China's coach Dustin Wilson said the women's team has carried the hopes of winning the golds in Turin.

"We work very hard with men's program, but women's team has more chance. So we will focus on the women in order to win the gold," said the Canadian, who has been coaching China's freestyle team for one year.

Liu Peng, chief of China's General Administration of Sports, has hailed the success of the Chinese women skiers at the World Cup, encouraging them to do better in Turin.

Xu put China on the world skiing map by winning the silver medal at the Nagano Olympics in 1998, but had a poor result in Salt Lake City.

"At present, the landing is not very good. I will worker harder on the jump and landing to be better prepared for the Turin Olympics," Xu Said.
