China ensures circulation of poultry products
font size

China's national headquarters of Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (HPAI) prevention and control has demanded that relevant areas and departments ensure the circulation of poultry products while containing the HPAI spread.

In the notice published by Xinhua on Sunday, the headquarters said that the bird flue prevention task has achieved progress under the unified arrangements of the central government. However, some local areas restricted the transportation of poultry products from non-affected areas.

With the New Year and Spring Festival drawing near, the notice said, the demand for poultry products will rise. Quarantine authorities should strengthen supervision over live poultry trading and poultry product processing.

The departments in charge of railway, highway, shipping and air transportation should ensure the smooth circulation of poultry products, the headquarters required.

The notice also stressed that the people should be provided with more knowledge about HPAI prevention and safe consumption of poultry products.
