Namibian president continues China visit in Beijing
font size

President Hifikepunye Pohamba of the Republic of Namibia arrived in Beijing on Monday morning, continuing his five-day state visit to China.

During his stay in Beijing, Pohamba is scheduled to hold talks with his Chinese counterpart Hu Jintao, and meet respectively with Premier Wen Jiabao and top legislator Wu Bangguo.

Pohamba kicked off his China visit on last Friday in Hainan, China's southernmost island province, where he visited a free trade zone and a local state-owned farm.

His current China tour, the first since he assumed presidency in March, also brought him to Chongqing, a southwestern municipality.

Pohamba's entourage includes his wife and several high-ranking officials. He is the second president of the southwestern African country since it won independence in 1990.
