China's GDP energy consumption indexes to be released next yearRelevant departments in China will release the index of energy consumption per 10,000 yuan GDP, the reduction rate for energy consumption per 10,000 yuan GDP, the industrial value-added energy consumption per 10,000 yuan of industrial enterprises above the designated size and the index of electricity consumption per 10,000 yuan GDP of the previous fiscal year by the end of June annually starting from next year, which was learned from the National Development and Reform Commission on Sunday in Beijing. The establishment of the energy consumption indexes report is an important measure for putting into effect the scientific viewpoint of development in an all-round way and will be of vital orientation and promotion role for accelerating the construction of a conservation-minded society, said a responsible official concerned with the commission. It is learned that by 2010, the energy consumption GDP indexes per unit in the country will drop by about 20 per cent in comparison with that of the end of the "10th Five-Year Plan" period according to the "proposal" of the "11th Five-Year Plan".
