Macao Int'l Airport logs stronger passenger handling in first 10 months

The Macao International Airport has handled 3.61 million passengers in the first 10 months of this year, a year-on-year rise of 1.8 percent, according to statistics released by the airport Monday.

Figures showed that the majority of the passengers was from China's Taiwan province, Chinese mainland, Thailand, Malaysia and South Korea.

The airport in October alone recorded a passenger handling of 390,435.

It has dealt 201,976 tons of airfreight in the first 10 months, according to the statistics.

Deng Jun, board chairman of the airport, told media earlier that the airport, is expected to record in 2005 the largest throughput in its 10-year history.
